Vulnerability Scanning

Automated identification and analysis of security weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications to prioritize remediation efforts.

Vulnerability Scanning is the automated process of identifying security weaknesses in computer systems, networks, and applications by comparing them against databases of known vulnerabilities. Vulnerability scanners probe systems for misconfigurations, outdated software, weak credentials, and unpatched vulnerabilities, producing reports that prioritize findings by severity. Regular vulnerability scanning is a foundational component of any mature security program and is required by frameworks including NIST 800-53, PCI DSS, and CMMC. Scanning alone is not sufficient — findings must be validated, prioritized, and remediated systematically. CyberUp24's Consulting services include vulnerability scanning as part of comprehensive posture assessments.
